Here’s where we think the cash in your wallet has gone to:
Kopi-O & Lattes – Your caffeine addiction per annum can add up quite a fair bit. So, why not brew your own at home instead?
Power Puff – Why pay for a puff of smoke and a higher chance at getting lung cancer? Kick the habit and embark on healthy living!
Technology Gadgets – The trend is kicking in to buy "almost-brand-news". If you need to have these gadgets, try buying them at a much cheaper price.
DVDs & CDs – As attractive as it may seem it is still better to wait for them to show on Astro movie channels (if you subscribed to one). Or have them rented or purchased second hand. If you can get someone to loan you free of charge, the better it is.
Eating Out – Cook your own meal and you can easily save up to RM300 a month! Besides, you get to choose what to put in your meals to make them healthier.
Phone Bills – If you need to chat and gossip, don’t call. Instead, arrange to meet that person you want to yak with. This will help you cut down on your phone bills besides significantly reducing the harmful radiation to your ears.
Petrol – Accelerate and you'll a few Ringgit poorer daily. Getting stuck in a massive traffic jam and that can add up to your petrol cost per month. Add both up and it can easily snowball into a 3 digit figure by the end of the month.
DIY Laundry – Wash your own clothes instead of sending them to the dobby. Save on energy and money by running the washing machine only when it’s full. On top of that, you get to play your part in saving the environment.
Things you don’t need – Buy only things that you really need. Don’t buy stuffs that you don’t need. Eg. Buying another pair of white pant.
Impulsive Convenience – Plan your purchases well and always try to buy in bulk to take advantage of the economies of scale. Avoid impulsive buying of items from the convenience store. Eg. A pack of potato chips is going to cost you more if you get them from 7-11 instead of Tesco or Giant.
